HEIC to PNG
Convert iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos to PNG — lossless quality, transparency preserved, perfect for design, logos and further editing. 100% browser-based via heic2any, no upload.
How to Convert HEIC to PNG
Step 1
Upload one or more iPhone HEIC photos — batch up to 60. Files stay in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Step 2
heic2any decodes each HEIC into an image in your browser. Output format is locked to lossless PNG. Optionally rotate, flip, or crop.
Step 3
Click "Download" to save a single PNG, or "Download ZIP" for all photos in one archive — lossless and editor-ready.
Tips for Converting HEIC to PNG
Why pick PNG over JPG
PNG is lossless — every pixel is preserved exactly as the HEIC decoder output it. Unlike JPG, PNG also supports transparency (alpha channel), making it the right choice for logos, graphics with transparent backgrounds, product cut-outs and anything you'll edit further. The trade-off: PNG files are noticeably larger than JPG.
Browser-native decode via heic2any
This tool uses heic2any, an open-source library that compiles libheif to WebAssembly. Decoding runs entirely in your browser — HEIC photos never touch a server. It's slower than a native app (especially for big batches), but completely private.
PNG output is lossless and large
Because PNG preserves every pixel without lossy compression, expect the output to be 3-5× the size of an equivalent JPG — a 3 MB HEIC photo typically becomes a 10-15 MB PNG. This is the cost of lossless quality; if size matters more than pixel-perfect fidelity, use HEIC to JPG instead.
EXIF metadata is stripped
Browser-based HEIC decoding does not preserve EXIF metadata (camera model, GPS location, timestamp, orientation). If metadata matters, use Apple Photos → Export → Export Unmodified Original on a Mac, or a dedicated metadata-aware converter on your device.
